Minimalistic Photography

Minimalist photography arises from the notion of minimalism in art, which is a style used by many 20th century artists. This style emphasizes the use of a minimal number of compositional elements: color, objects, shapes, and texture.

Minimalist photography is a form of photography that is distinguished by extreme, austere simplicity. It emphasizes spareness and focuses solely on the smallest number of objects in the composition process.

When you call a person a minimalist, you’re describing their interest in keeping things very simple. A minimalist prefers the minimal amount or degree of something. … The art they created is also referred to as minimalist. A white canvas with one black line might be a typical minimalist painting.

Recently I purchased a light box in an effort to start taking minimalistic photographs.  I think it’s a wonderful genre, especially in monochrome.  The accessory I purchased is Tiktech A4 LED tracing light pad light box with dimmer.  I bought it from Amazon online.

Below are my first pictures.  I know I have a long way to go, but as you know a journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.

The gear I used to take these pictures were:

  • Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II prime lens
  • Manfrotto tripod
  • 4A LED tracing light pad light box with dimmer.
  • Canon DSLR EOS Rebel T2i camera

Good Day!
