A Penny For Your Thoughts?

  1. Hola Omar,
interesting choice of words for the pick-up-your-order station, “RETIRE”. I searched for a better word than retiré, but could not find one. To pick something up here it would translate perhaps to recoger but translations are seldom the exact meaning in the various Spanish dialects in South America. It is good fun to research these examples as I always learn something new. Never too late to learn new stuff! Ha

    1. Hola Jim and Nena:

We usually use the word “retire” to indicate that this is the place where you pick up something. For example in our teller-machine, we would see a sign that reads, “retire su dinero” which means pick up your money.

Language is a fun and entertaining thing to do. The learning range is limitless. I’ve been there. I have been studying the English language, and I’ve only reached the tip of the iceberg. 🙂
