This is the Panama subway. It is the only one in Central America. There is another branch being built which will be inaugurated sometime in 2019. Then a third one will be added to the mass transportation system.
It is expected that these three routes will mitigate the hideous traffic jams that are paralyzing traffic in all the metropolitan area.
The picture was taken from our back terrace with a Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 III installed on a DSLR Canon EOS Rebel T2i camera. The train is roughly about 1.5 miles away from our house. It’s amazing what these zoom lenses can do.
Good Day!

Don’t bet on it, amigo…
Hola Richard:
I thought a lot of the word I was going to use before writing the comment. The best I could think of was the word “mitigate”. Traffic jams will continue; however, with these routes people traveling from East (Tocumen area), West (Arraijan and Chorrera), and from the North (Colón) will benefit from these three routes working from 05:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Banning used cars is another issue being discussed in Congress. More development areas in the countryside need to be programmed to avoid the migration of large chunks of people heading toward Panama City and its surroundings. I understand it’s a tough cookie. A magic wand won’t work.
Happy Holidays, pal. Nice to hear from you. Hope all is well in Boquerón.
