Window Shopping Inside a Mall in Panama

Last Sunday my wife and I went to Metro Mall, to see if I could get a wall clock repaired.  No joy.  However, it was a pleasant experience looking at all the shops with their well decorated windows.  This is one window display with artificial flowers in a pleasant arrangement.

Good Day!

  1. Hola Omar,
There must be a small shop for clock repair somewhere nearby? I remember needing brake parts for my old car and found a shop just off the Transístmica in Calidonia. It was really just a window on the street to a shop that did auto repair. I handed the brake shoes to the guy and he stripped them and installed new brake shoe material to the shoes. Both front brakes done for FIVE Balboas! Of course I did all the work removing and installing the parts but new parts would have been 3 times as much money.
I had a similar experience with a Fiat that I owned briefly, no one had original parts but the shops were able to make or find parts to keep it in the road. Very difficult to find that kind of service in today’s world.

Was this the kitchen wall clock? I remember that one from a previous post.

  2. Hola Jim and Nena:

This was an office wall clock that I had in my home office. I did find a small clock repair shop (Relojín), but the cost of the repairs was much more expensive than buying a new clock. I dumped the damaged clock and will buy a new one next Saturday.

I have found it becoming more difficult finding places to repair stuff. Everybody will just tell you, it is not repairable and you have to buy a new item. There used to be a time in Panama when everything was repairable. Not anymore. “Buy a new one”, seems to be the trend nowadays.
