This is the place most young backpack tourists stay during their perennial sojourns to Central, and South America. These “hostales” (lodging houses) are clean, cheap and in the middle of the action.
In Panama these young tourists who travel with a stringent budget are called “mochileros” (backpackers) since they travel light; mostly with only a small worn-out backpack. You can see them in droves at the tourist hot spots in Panama City busy with their cameras. They come to visit Panama from all corners of the globe.
