This is how Mansión Danté looked like before the building was demolished and replaced by a skyscraper in the middle of Panama City’s commercial center.  For years it was the most elegant store in town.  It had exclusive merchandise for upper-middle-class customers.  Today, the only memories are left of this elegant store in the middle of Panama City.  These photographs will keep the former exclusive store alive.

These photographs will keep the former exclusive store alive for future generations to come.

Good Day!

  1. Hola Omar,
This is exactly why I can not find my way around the city now; all the landmarks are being replaced with mostly lookalike buildings. Many of the taxistas now don’t know any of the old navigation points if they still exist. Progress is great, history is better.

  2. Hola Jim y Nena:

The same thing happens to us. During the Martinelli administration, so many public works were made in the city, that it is difficult for us to catch up. It’s like living in a different city. Since I don’t drive so often, the streets are so difficult to identify, especially if they are “One Way” or not. And, as you know, our traffic lights, and traffic, in general, is total chaos. Many times we prefer to use Uber, instead of driving. We only use our car for small errands near our home.

Progress is now working against us. But it is what it is. 🙂
