Soursop or “guanábana“) in Spanish, is a delicacy tropical fruit in this part of the world—Panama. We try to sink our sink our teeth into it as much as we possibly can. This one was given to us by a relative of my wife last week. Now it has been totally consumed. Waiting for another one sometime next week.
Soursop is the fruit of Annona muricata, a broadleaf, flowering, evergreen tree. The exact origin is unknown; it is native to the tropical regions of the Americas and is widely propagated.
The flavor of the fruit has been described as a combination of strawberry and pineapple, with sour citrus flavor notes contrasting with an underlying creamy texture reminiscent of coconut or banana. (Wikipedia Encyclopedia)
