The origin of the Alstroemeria is South America, specifically from the Andean mountains of Chile and Peru.  Ir comes in different colors such as yellow, pink, purple, white, orange, fuscia and red.

I got hold of the red version, which is awesome.

Good Day!

  1. I’ve always enjoyed alstromeria, because they’re so easy to find here, and last so long. But I didn’t know about the “Lily of the Incas” name, and I’ve never seen red ones. How lucky you were to find some!

  2. They are widely seen here in our supermarkets. Other colors are also available. You are right; they do last a long time if you put water in the vase. The red color is very intense, as you can appreciate in the pictures. Flowers are so soothing to the eye, and to the spirit. We love to have fresh flowers in our living room.
