Upgrading the Gear

I know for a fact that a photograph is the product of the man or woman behind the camera.  The photographer is where the creative process is born and executed.  The camera and all its accessories are useful tools and are critical in producing jaw-dropping photographs. I strongly believe that photographs are not taken—they are created.

Having said that, it is also true, that a camera and all its paraphernalia are exploited by photographers to pop out the million dollar picture.  Last week I ordered several products from Amazon in an effort to build up my home photography studio.

Today I will concentrate on the Godox S-Type Bracket Bowens Mount Holder for speedlite flashes, snoots, softboxes or honeycombs.  The idea is to move forward towards OCF Lighting (Off the Camera Lighting).  Better photographs are taken using this creative lighting technique.

The Bowens mount will work with most studio flash accessories, such as speedlites, softboxes, reflectors, wireless triggers, umbrellas and beauty dishes.  It occupies less space due to its small size and light weight.

Two antislip rubber mats will protect your speedlites which can be of different sizes and can be positioned in both a horizontal or vertical position.  It has an umbrella input hole and the umbrella can be accommodated to several positions.  Adapters and levers will rotate the device to several shooting angles as well.

It is made out of a high quality strong black plastic. Feels great in your hands and should resist the wear and tear of time.  Purchased at Amazon for $18.97.  Below are several pictures of this new puppy.

Tomorrow I will post pictures of a white satin umbrella which works well with this Bowens mount and acts as a light diffuser.

Good Day!
