The Time Machine

time
Macro photography of my wife’s Citizen watch.  It’s my gift for her recent birthday.  I thought it would be a wonderful subject to capture with my newly-acquired Canon macro lens.  The result is just what I had in mind.  Buying this lens was a wise decision.  Plan to use it more in the future, specially with fresh flowers.  Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.

Good Day!

    1. Morning Linda:

Thank you for your kind comment. I used the jet black surface of my Apple iPad to obtain that nice reflection at the bottom. The background is the black LG screen of my computer.

Overall, it is just what I had in mind before I took the shot. In order to avoid camera shake, I used my reliable Manfrotto tripod.

This photograph placed a smile on my face. 🙂

      Cheers,

      Omar.-

  1. I love this! I’ve also just recently got a canon macro lens. I tried doing some product shots at home and I had a black glass table and tried to go for this effect too. Did not come out as well as yours! The reflection looks incredible!

    1. Hello Brigitte:

I’m so glad you visited and commented on my blog. Just returned from viewing your lovely shots of snow in the U.K. I just know you have the muses on your side, thus your creative photographs. I live in Panama, Central America, and we don’t have snow in this part of the world.

Thank you for your very encouraging words. Hope to see more of your work. BTW, what kind of marco lens do you have? I just purchased a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens. So far so good.

I love flowers, so my next project is to shoot marco photographs of fresh flowers. Can’t wait.

      Cheers,

      Omar.-

      1. Thank you for looking through my blog and for following me. It’s so funny you should say about flowers as that’s what I’ve been doing the past week with my macro! I have a canon EF-S 100mm f/2.8. So pretty similar hey! Ive only had mine since the beginning of Jan so I’m still learning with mine. I’ve been setting up my lights and doing a little studio in my kitchen just so I can practice with some products. I will hopefully post more soon. Thanks again for stopping by 😊

  2. Hey, I know this macro lens. I was undecided what to buy, this one or the 60mm. It was a tough decision. My decision was based on the size and weight of the lens.

This is a new lens for me too. I placed the order at E-Bay on January 4th and received it in Panama on January 12th. There’s a blog post about its specifications. That’s what I usually do when I buy new gear.

By golly, you have a hot lens for sure. I’ll be on the lookout for your work. Perhaps we could exchange ideas and tricks. Needless to say, I love your work. This has been my lucky day! Thank you for sharing.

    Bye,

    Omar.-
