Window Shopping in Panama City, Panama

To me this elegant fashion accessory looks very much like Grace Kelly of Monaco.  So regal and elegant.  Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.

All pictures were shot with my cellphone’s camera through a glass window.  The glass is so transparent, it is almost invisible.  Good Day!

  1. Buenos Días Bárbara:

I can see we are on the same page regarding the elegant mannequin on display. This is interesting English word.

Mannequin comes from the French word mannequin, which had acquired the meaning “an artist’s jointed model”, which in turn came from the Flemish word manneken, meaning “little man, figurine”.

In early use in the United Kingdom, it referred to fashion models themselves, the meaning as a dummy dating from the start of World War II.

Every day we learn something new which independent of the field of photography. That’s why I enjoy blogging so much, it pushes me to keep on researching just about anything.

  2. We were just talking about Grace Kelly the other day. I didn’t like it so much when she got married. I suppose there was some hidden desire on my part to marry her. I was already married then and we had some kids. I just liked her and met her in the movies like most people did. And I seldom see her since she got married.

    1. Morning Abe:

When she got married to the Prince of Monaco, she was the queen of Hollywood. Everybody was in love with her, including Your Truly. It was a great loss to America.

When I learned about the accident I cried, as if something inside of me got broken. It was a formidable blow to her husband as well. I think he never recovered.

I view her movies whenever they are availabe. She shines on the silver screen like a diamond.

Yep, my dear friend, Grace Kelly was something else.

      1. I guess I am fortunate in that I forgot the details around her death. She was something special and I saw everything she had a role on or I tried to. There was another lady that I guess I fell in love with too. She is Gina Lollobrigida and I remember seeing her in her first movie and thought I was going to faint.I think Gina is still alive and is OK.

  3. Grace Kelly died on September 14, 1982, a day after suffering a stroke while driving, causing her to crash. The whole world cried that day. It was very sad

Another star that captured my young heart was Sofía Lorens. I’m still captivated by her beauty whenever I see a picture of her.

I don’t think we have actresses of this caliber nowadays. The Golden Days of Hollywood are long gone.
