Due to the explosive economic growth in Panama, we are becoming the “melting pot” of Middle America, South America and the Caribbean.  The Chinese community has been here since the construction of the Panama Railroad in 1855 and the Panama Canal in 1914.  They are hard-working people and have made a significant contribution to the development of this country.  Good Day.

  1. I do love the lanterns. Houston has a good-sized Chinese community, too, and the celebrations during the festivals are wonderful. The food is quite good, too — especially if you go to some of the best (i.e., family-owned) restaurants.

  2. Same here Linda. The Chinese community is one of the largest minority groups in the country. They are good people and highly respected. In our neighborhood they own a small supermarket and a modest dry cleaning.

We have been their customer for more than 35 years. We go back a long time.
