Organic Fertilizer

Abdiel, the eldest of the Twisters, is beginning to show his stripes.  During his last visit, he gathered some old leaves, a fresh amount of black soil, chopped wood and deposited all this organic material under a tree in our back yard.  I thought it would make a good picture and went ahead and took a shot at the scene.  I’m sure Abdiel will like to see later on in his life what he did when he was a kid.  Photographers, whether professional or amateurs, are the historians of the modern era.

This is the equipment I used to take the first photograph. It is a Manfrotto 190B 3 section tripod with a compact ball head 496 and a RC2 rapid connect plate. Notice the central rod in a horizontal position. This is the first time I used my tripod this way. Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.
Photograph of my DSLR Canon EOS Rebel T2i camera mounted on a Manfrotto tripod ready to take the shot. To avoid camera shakeup I also used a wireless remote control. Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.

“Once the amateur’s native approach and humble willingness to learn fades away, the creative spirt of good photography dies with it.  Every professional should remain always in his heart, an amateur.”Alfred Eisentaedt
