Nutritional Totem

Snapshot of a pile of ingredients used by my wife to spice up her cooking. Inside the Oster mixer you will find red sweet pepper, onions, garlic, and culantro leaves. All of these ingredients are mixed with a small portion of water to produce a thick paste which is used to season meats, poultry, pork, fish, and even rice. Needless to her say, her dishes are finger-licking good. Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.

  1. I use all of those ingredients myself, except I never would have thought of making a paste of them. Choping is my preferred method of preparing them. They surely are pretty in the blender, though.
