A Red Tree

Snapshot of a beautiful red tree in the neighborhood of El Bosque where we live. BTW, El Bosque means “The Forest” in Spanish. Taken with a compact P&S Canon PowerShot A720 IS camera. Photo by ¬©Omar Upegui R.
Picture taken with a DSLR Canon EOS Rebel T2i and the “nifty-fifty” Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II prime lens. The day was gray and overcast. With some post processing I was able to shed some light on the scarlet tree and surrounding lush vegetation. Photo by ¬©Omar Upegui R.

  1. I can’t tell for certain, but this does look like a Royal Poinciana tree. We had them in Liberia, and I believe they’re native in Florida. I was told they originally came there from Africa, but I don’t know that for sure. In any event, the tree is gorgeous, and your photos do it justice.

    1. I’m not very good with names of plants, animals or trees. Thanks for sharing the name of this tree with our readers. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Red is always my favorite color and the P&S camera does a got job capturing its brightness.
