The light source for these pictures were provided by several small candles strategically placed on the dining table in front of the subject.  The color was perfect for a low light portrait picture.  Good Day.

  1. What warm, appealing portraits. I do love her hands. I have relatively short fingers, and I can’t even give them the appearance of length with lovely nails, since 80 grit sandpaper is better than an emery board for keeping them short!

  2. Linda,

I frequently view YouTube videos about photography techniques in an effort to enhance my pictures. Lately I’ve been studying how to take pictures solely using the light of candles. I like the orange light and the shadows that low light provides.

Mireya, the person posing for the camera is a long time friend visiting us from Maine. She is helping me in dipping my toes into new portraiture territory. Soon I will post more pictures of her in different poses.

As you already know, I’m passionately hooked to the hobby of photography, albeit there is still so much to learn.
