Those certainly do look like grackels. They tend to flock together during spring and fall on the trees and power lines down the street at my local grocery, during their migration. They’re loud and chattery, but I like them. They’re one of the first signs that our season is changing.

They are in Panama all year round. Loudest birds I’ve known. You can hear them “chatting” at a distance. This small shrub was loaded with them.
Are they named “talingos”?

I don’t know their scientific name, but yes, we call them “talingos”. Noisy birds and not so good looking if you ask me. I call them “black birds”.
