Witty Street Signs in Panama
August 13, 2012 by Omar Upegui R.

Snapshot of a street sign designed by an employment agency called Arka. I’ve seen real people holding up these signs in Europe and the United States. Sometime they work and people actually get employed this way. In times of uncertainly, creativity will get you out of the hole. Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.

And some of the people holding those signs are at work! I just read an article about panhandlers in our area – some are making thousands of dollars – up to $40K and more a year! Still, better to have a real job than to stand on a corner with a sign – or so I think. Arka’s got themselves a good ad campaign.
As for the chair… it may be high fashion, but for some reason it reminds me of a dentist’s office! I’ll not be buying that one.
Morning Linda:
I had no idea those guys with the cardboard signs were raking in so much money. $40k a year is a lot of dough.
Yes, I agree, it’s much better to have a regular job, inside a cozy office than to be outside with all that rain, wind, snow, thefts, and what have you.
I wouldn’t buy the chair either. No ma’am!
Kind Regards,
Omar.-
