Yesterday was Thursday, August 9, 2012. It was a happy day for the Twister’s family. Paola, the smallest of the bunch, reached her first birthday. Their parents were busy like squirrels organizing a party to celebrate the occasion. Early morning they came with Paola to take her picture taken. Somehow I’ve become the “Official Photographer” of the family. I’m glad to accept the distinction.
After Paola was meticulously dressed in delicate pink, I started the photo session. This is what came out of my Canon DSLR EOS Rebel T2i camera. Here we go.
Happy Birthday Paola. “A journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one’s feet.”—Lao-tzu Chinese philosopher (604 BC – 531 BC). Good Day.

Congrats to Paola, her parents, siblings, uncle and aunt. So cute!

Atentamente,
Omar.-
Such a marvelous variety here. You have captured so many moods – a lovely remembrance for her parents now, and for Paola later.
Is cake and ice cream traditional for a birthday, or is there another treat more commonly served?
Hello Linda:
All of the above were present at the party, plus an ocean of Coke. Some cold beer too for the grownups too. Due to my reflux problems I had to stay away from most of the goodies.
Yes, Linda, I want Paola to look back at these pictures when she has grown into a young woman and remember when she was once a baby girl. Time elapses too quickly, like water through our fingers. Carpe Diem.
Oh, there was a piñata stuffed with all sorts of candies too. A birthday party is not a birthday party without a piñata.
Bye now. It’s 3:24 a.m. in my home office wall clock. Couldn’t sleep so I decided to tickle the keyboard and reach out to the great state of Texas.
Buenas Noches,
Omar.-
She is gorgeous, Omar! I would love to get my youngest grandkid, Katie, and Paola together, she just turned one last month. I can imagine the two of them playing and laughing at the adults. We do piñatas at parties too (and oceans of Coke!).
Wonderful photos.

Hi Jim and Nena:
As you know, I always say that small children are the closest creatures you can get to real angels. They are so spontaneous and innocent in all of what they do; it’s absolutely marvelous.
Yep, ice cream, cokes, paper hats, piñatas, cakes and so forth are all part of the celebration. Oh, don’t forget the cold beer. You are young only once.
Thanks a bunch for your comments,
Omar.-
