Snapshot of a recently built seawall adjacent to the Coastal Strip. The buildings in the background are located in a site known as El Malecón. This area is highly visited by city dwellers to have fun, jog, ride bicycles and enjoy the cool breezes of the Pacific Ocean. Joie de vivre! Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.

Oh, beautiful! It’s very much like Galveston’s seawall area. Folks go there to “hang out”, to roller blade, to ride in bicycle-powered carts and play at the water’s edge. There are plenty of pelicans and gulls to add to the fun, and lots of good food in the restaurants across the street!
Seems like you are describing Panama City´s Cinta Costera, also known as the Coastal Strip in Panama. They started with phase one, then phase two, and now they’re working on phase three. It will be the best entertaining place in this cosmopolitan city bathed by the Pacific Ocean.
Changes are coming to Panama City, faster than I can capture them with my camera. It’s a race against time. It’s an exciting city to dwell and spend your retirement years.
Thank you Linda for your encouraging comments.
Regards,
Omar.-
