This chopper owned by Panama Civil Protection Service (SINAPROC) was on display at a recent airshow in Panama City, Panama. It can be used to transport people as well as converted into a modern flying ambulance. Photo by ©Omar Upegui R.

When I saw only the title, I had a vision of a flock of violins flying through the air – modern art at its best. This is modern art, too – of a different sort!
Linda, your vision was correct, violins are also instruments of a different kind. English is so rich it can be used in so many different ways to express a point.
For a pilot, these instruments are indeed a work of modern art.

I must make one small correction, Omar. Helicopters do not fly TO anywhere. Due to their unstable nature, helicopter pilots fly away from everywhere else to end up at their destination. A subtle idea but one understood by anyone who has ever traveled by helicopter.

Thank you Jim. Now I’m a little wiser regarding choppers. I know how much you love these birds. In Vietnam they were the flying cavalry.

Omar.-
