It was a sticky, humid and torrid day. The sun was a sizzling ball of fire darting hot rays of light towards mother ship Earth. We are in the middle of a very dry and scorching season. The day was Saturday, February 18, 2012 and the hour was 6:30 p.m. (-5 GMT). I was quietly sitting in the dining room eating dinner. Suddenly a strong ray of light spearheaded through the living room window and pierced through the glass cup containing my dessert—red Jello.
The diffused light effect was awe-inspiring. I swiftly dashed to my home office and returned armed with my Birthday Camera. I wanted to capture the scene before the light was gone. This is what the lens of my Canon PowerShot A720 IS captured. Here we go.

Maybe some of these picture are not technically perfect because I didn’t follow the rules of good photography. If they look boring to you, I apologize. But I posted them having these words in mind, “Never regret. If it’s good, it’s wonderful. It it’s bad, it’s experience.” Good Day.

Dear Omar,
You know how to find beauty in details others woudn´t pay attention to and that´s part of the secret of your happy retirement. Thank you once more.
Hilda
Dearest Hilda:
I’m glad you are still following our posts. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
God Bless,
Omar.-
Omar…how unique…a simple photo of a bowl of Jello, casting interesting shadows. Complex in its own simplicity. Thanks for sharing. Glad you upgraded your photo equipment…great choice.
I was born in Panama (Canal Zone, 1945, Dad and Mom there as civilian workers). Gorga hospital. Left when I was 3 months, so no memories, but wishes to return someday soon.
I snapped a photo this past year with some very unique and eerie shadows. I’m a private pilot and was departing Renton, WA (near Seattle), runway 32, heading due north back to home of Bellingham, WA, climbing through 2500 feet.
I saw unusual shadows being cast over Lake Washington from the Seattle Skyline. I started snapping with my iPhone and hand flying the Piper PA-28 with the other hand…and didn’t realize the dazzling and totally unique pohoto I had captured until I landed 30 minutes later.
It’s been described as having Twin Towers rememberances. I tried to add it here but was not allowed to post an image. Perhaps I can email it to you, being a photographer/artist that you are. Sincerely, Michae O’Shea Williams in Bellingham, WA
Howdy Michael:
Thank you for your positive remarks. Yeah, I’ll be happy to take a look at your picture. My e-mail address is epiac1216@yahoo.com.
Hope you can come down to Panama in the future and take a look at the place where you were born. We are almost the same age. I was born in 1946. Born and raised in Panama.
Take Care,
Omar.-
Hey, looks like dumb luck prevails over utter techno incompetency . I added it as my “Gravatar” image and it posted after my name above. You can click on the pohoto and it’ll expand. Michael
¡Amazing shadows! Thanks for sharing, Mr. Williams.
My apologies for the extra exclamation mark. My mind is programmed in Spanish…
