For no special reason, I woke up this morning in a psychological state of hunger. I told my wife, “Aura, I’m so hungry I could eat a horse.” She smiled softly as she usually does, went to the shower and later to the kitchen to start her morning chores.
As customary, I went to my office and surfed the Cloud to see what was new on my blog and around the globe. The story of the FAA workers that were laid off last week was on my mind. The issue is still pending and causing a lot of controversy.
Shortly afterwards, Aura came to my rescue with a surprise breakfast. This is what I saw on the dinner table.

Morning and buen provecho, Omar.
When I was working, I had a breakfast just like this every day. It just makes the day go right when you can start with a full stomach.
Nowadays I often just have patacones, queso blanco, and of course, coffee.

( 34 straight days of 100°+ temperatures, please send rain! haha)
Hey Jim and Nena:
Thank you. Now that you mentioned patacones, I’ll ask Aura to include those for our next breakfast. I love patacones, as well.
It’s been raining on and off lately. Temperatures are relatively moderate. Grass is green and flowers are blooming. The rainy season in Panama is beautiful, as you well know.
Take care of those blistering temperatures.
Regards,
Omar.-
I was in North Texas on June 21, 1980 when it hit 120. Most nights at midnight it was still 90. I feel for you.
Hi,
The records set in 1980 are the ones we have almost reached. You are right, the nights are not much better.
