A bit reminiscent of a Japanese bonsai, don’t you think?
Hi Richard:
I was surprised to see those small trees growing on the cement. Nature is pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Omar.-
Hi Omar,
I went exploring when I got stationed on Ft. Grant and was amazed at how fast Mother Nature was reclaiming all the concrete foundations. The island was a maze of tunnels and gun powder bunkers, designed to withstand bombardment from an enemy approaching by sea and still the vegetation sprouted through the gaps. Given enough time, nature reclaims its own. If you get a chance, I’ll bet there are still some great photo ops out there.

PS, I just received a used Canon Rebel 300D for free! My son’s boss was having trouble with it and decided to buy a new one. My first DSLR! haha
Hi Jim and Nena:
You bet. Nature is far wiser than us mortals, no matter what we say. Eventually Mother Nature will prevail and we will all have gone from this planet.
Good for you. Now you are playing in the Major Leagues of photography. That is my aspiration, to escalate to a DSRL camera, but the prices for them is out of my reach. For the time being, I’ll be clicking my ole and faithful Canon PowerShot A720 IS.
Congrats on your new puppy.
Regards,
Omar.-
I am looking forward to total control again! haha I haven’t used an SLR since I retired my Minota X-700 film camera some years ago. I got to play with my son’s Nikon D40 and loved it but couldn’t justify the price for just snapshots of the kids. Now I can’t wait to learn shutter and aperture priority all over again. AND no waiting for the prints to be developed. I may be in heaven (photography-wise).

Hi J&N:
Yep, having a DSLR is like being in photography heaven. Enjoy your new camera. Don’t forget to share your pictures.
Bye,
Omar.-
