Christmas is over and New Year begins to age. Today is January 4, 2011. Panamanians are forgetting about tamales, glittering Christmas trees, rum, reggae, yellow underwear, and other concepts related to the end of the year activities and getting ready for the next big thing—the Carnavales. That’s what the year is all about—the feast of the flesh. If you happpen to be in Panama during these wild days, you will never be the same again. Carnavales is serious business in this part of the world.
But that’s besides the point at this moment. I’m still touched by the Villas Navideñas and their charm with children. For almost a month, thousands of children visited the Cinta Costera with their parents, day or night, to enjoy the scenes of white rabbits, Aladdin and his flying carpet, Christmas trees, elephants, Peter Pan, the Nutcracker Prince and other attractions for the young and not so young generation.
Below are my final two pictures of the Villas Navideñas which depicts the building blocks that children use to play and learn their ABCs. I have no idea what the blue moon means, but I’m sure there’s a reason for being there. Here we go.

This is what I was referring to, by the building blocks for kids. I'm sure many of you used them while growing up. Photo ©Omar Upegui R.
That’s it folks. Christmas is over. The fireworks of New Year is history, and now we look forward for the Carne Vale. Good Day.

Perhaps the blue moon means this:
“If they say the moon is blue,
We must believe that it is true.”

Hello Michael:
I guess you are now over drinking your daily black coffee and getting back to tickling the ivories early morning.
Thanks for the story on the blue moon. Now I know the rest of the story of the blue moon. You are so full of facts my dear friend.
Enjoy your stay in Boquete,
Omar.-
If I go to bed at 21:00 or 21:30, I awake at 04:00. If I go to bed at 22:00 or 22:30, I awake at 05:00. I have to be careful and not get too much of this “best coffee in the world” into my system.
Hello Michael:
Tell Rosa to light it up a little. Maybe you are drinking it too strong. It’s O.K. to be an early riser, but you have to get your sleep too. I usually go to bed at 08:00 p.m. and wake up about 04:00 a.m.
My coffee is Café Durán. Don’t know where it comes from.
Regards,
Omar.-
